The Human Resources Generalist II / Senior HR Generalist partners with Human Resources leadership to identify opportunities to better leverage the business and human resources needs necessary to achieve business goals and objectives. Serve as a consultant, coach, and advisor on the day-to-day HR responsibilities within the organization. Education / Experience Requirements Minimum four (4) years of HR Generalist or HR Business Partner experience. Minimum one (1) year of lead/supervisory/management experience. Minimum one (1) year of experience working with unions, contracts, and union environments. Strong knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and regulations at local, state, and federal levels. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Ability to build strong relationships within the organization. Experience with HRIS systems and reporting. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Desire to continue professional development.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Talent Acquisition
Manage and support the talent acquisition lifecycle from sourcing to onboarding. Implement creative sourcing initiatives and programs. Ensure clear communication with hiring managers, department heads, and candidates. Coach managers through decision-making processes.
Onboarding
Partner with and assist with New Hire Orientation and Day 1 assimilation.
Compensation and Benefits Administration
Assist in developing and implementing compensation strategies, including salary surveys and job evaluations. Manage employee benefits plans and administrative processes. Oversee pay actions, workers compensation, disability, FMLA, and wellness programs. Conduct Benefits Orientations.
Employee Relations
Conduct investigations and manage corrective counseling for non-union employees. Handle termination processes and partner with managers on disciplinary actions. Manage exit interviews, separation paperwork, and unemployment claims. Coach and counsel employees and management on performance and relations.
Reporting
Manage tracking and reporting for EEO/AAP, FMLA, Workers Compensation, OSHA, and turnover. Perform trend analysis and vendor reporting.
HR Systems
Maintain employee data in HR & HRIS systems such as Dayforce, SAMBA, and ETMS.
Employee Engagement and Organizational Design
Implement engagement programs and analyze employee satisfaction surveys. Assist with organizational design, including structure and job descriptions linked to compensation.
Performance Management
Manage performance appraisal processes and train managers in coaching and discipline.
Risk and Compliance
Ensure legal compliance and manage employee handbooks, SOPs, and policies. Oversee drug & alcohol programs and coordinate required training. Maintain professional knowledge through workshops and networking. Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
Sitting, reaching, finger dexterity, normal vision and hearing, and mobility within the office.
Licenses Required
PHR, SHRM-CP, SPHR preferred.
