Duties/Responsibilities: 1. Determines duties and taxes payable for importing goods. 2. Calculates duty and tariff payments owed on shipments and processes payments for the client. 3. Processes import documentation in compliance with laws, customs regulations, or company and client procedures. 4. Obtains power of attorney from the client and signs necessary documents. 5. Ensures that goods are cleared through customs and arrive at their intended destination. 6. Requests necessary documentation for import, such as customs invoices, certificates of origin, and cargo-control documents. 7. Informs clients of import restrictions, tariff systems, insurance requirements, quotas, or other matters related to customs. 8. Tracks the location of goods. 9. Performs other related duties, as assigned. Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities: 1. Previous experience in customs entry writing and knowledge of procedures and regulations for importing goods preferred. 2. Ability to remain current on changes in import or export laws or regulations. 3. Proven attention to detail. 4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 5. Excellent organizational and time management skills. 6. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software. Education and Experience: 1. High school diploma or equivalent required. 2. Customs broker license a plus. Physical Requirements: 1. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
