Scada Administrator

The SCADA Administrator supervises and performs maintenance and repair work on wastewater treatment plant equipment and the SCADA system. The SCADA system monitors the City's WWTP, wells, elevated tanks, and sewage pump stations. This position also manages and administers all functions of supervisory control and data acquisition. Examples of Duties: Maintains SCADA computers and associated equipment, including controllers, modems, and radio equipment. Monitors equipment for operability; repairing and/or replacing equipment as needed. Operates a laptop computer to monitor the SCADA system for the wastewater treatment plant, the water distribution system, and the sewer collection system. Purchases and maintains inventory of parts, equipment, and supplies. Communicates with SCADA contract providers concerning issues and ways to improve SCADA operations and to implement new and existing projects. Responds to emergencies and assists maintenance staff in troubleshooting electrical and control equipment. Maintains flow meters at the wastewater treatment plant, water wells, lift stations, and industrial flow monitoring locations. Communicates with engineers, electrical engineers, and others about treatment plant, water distribution, and sewer collection projects. Life Insurance - Basic life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance in the amount of one times salary rounded up to the next thousand dollars is provided at no cost to the employee. Also, basic dependent life insurance at $10,000 is provided for covered family members. Voluntary Term Life Insurance - New employees are guaranteed at least $150,000 (not to exceed five times their annual salary). Employees are offered up to $50,000 of spouse life insurance and $10,000 of dependent life insurance. Long-Term Disability - City-paid long-term disability insurance pays 50% of the employee's salary if the employee is out of work for 90 days due to sickness.
