Legal Project Analyst

The Legal Project Analyst will work directly with attorneys, Paralegals, and Legal Practice Assistants to effectively manage and coordinate the firm’s administrative and legal processes for their largest and most complex client relationships. The role supports reporting, knowledge management, and oversight of billing and collections for top clients, and collaborates with administrative departments to develop and implement procedures to improve the firm’s processes and profitability. The position also supports the Legal Project Management team’s mission to help partners engage in their legal work more effectively. Responsibilities
Conduct analysis to help identify issues, working with the Legal Project Manager to guide client teams, streamline processes, and gain efficiencies. Support implementing the firm’s outside counsel guideline compliance function/technology. Review time entries and bills to ensure compliance with outside counsel guidelines. Implement process improvements for the legal team related to time entry, reporting, billing, and client compliance. Support the implementation, use, and development of LPM best practices, tools, and software. Liaise with other business services teams (e.g., Pricing/Finance/IT/Marketing/Business Development/Litigation Support) and vendors to support partners and their clients/matters. Develop a strong understanding of identified legal terms, including matter timelines and processes, to assist in reviewing and highlighting issues that require Attorney attention. Develop processes to highlight and address issues quickly; create documentation that can be replicated across legal teams as required. Provide requested financial data and analysis. Seek opportunities to improve the Legal Project Management function at the firm. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Professionalism, integrity, sound judgment, and discretion regarding sensitive and confidential matters. Ability to work independently and in teams with limited supervision, and to collaborate across administrative departments and practice groups in all offices. Service mindset with initiative, critical thinking, problem-solving, and resource coordination. Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and gain the trust of attorneys and professional staff. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail under pressure. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly regarding time entry. Understanding of business processes and ability to identify areas for process improvement to implement best practices. Motivated self-starter in a high-performance, fast-moving environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (lookups, pivot tables); ability to quickly learn new technology solutions. Flexibility and a positive attitude. Interpersonal communication skills for internal and external collaboration. Adaptability to changing client requirements and willingness to travel occasionally. Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, legal field, or Paralegal Certification; or a combination of education, training, and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the job duties. Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a paralegal, legal practice assistant, or legal secretary. Additional Information
