East Bay Community Foundation (EBCF), one of the nation’s first community foundations, has been a driving force for racial equity and social justice since its founding in 1928. Based in Oakland, EBCF manages over $600 million in assets and provides leadership in grantmaking, impact investing, and donor services throughout Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Responsibilities

Lead financial operations during a transformative growth phase, overseeing financial strategy, investments, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and grants management. Direct a team of three and manage an operating budget of $10 million. Collaborate with the COO, Board committees, and investment managers to ensure financial health and sustainability. Serve as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team to shape and execute strategic priorities and drive innovation in philanthropic finance. Direct the Foundation’s financial strategy and operations to support EBCF’s mission and long-term goals, including financial systems and processes for donor-advised funds, endowments, and grantee programs. Ensure transparency, scalability, and operational efficiency; provide financial insights and recommendations to guide strategic initiatives and innovative financial programs. Act as a trusted advisor to the Board of Directors and its Finance, Audit, and Investment Committees, ensuring compliance, effective oversight, and risk management. Qualifications

7 to 10 years of senior financial management experience—preferably in the nonprofit or philanthropic sectors. Experience in fund accounting, donor-advised funds, and managing intricate financial portfolios. Advanced qualifications such as an MBA or CPA. Proven track record of effective financial planning, modeling, and creating scalable financial systems that serve a mission-driven organization. Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $200,000–$225,000, commensurate with experience, and EBCF offers a comprehensive benefits package. How to Apply
