Production Control Planner III
Leidos' Defense Systems Manufacturing is seeking a Production Control Planner III to join our Platform Integration team that is standardizing production processes across multiple sites in North Alabama. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly organized Production Control Planner III to lead and manage production control operations at our Final Integration Facility. This senior-level role provides leadership and expertise in production control, ensuring alignment of materials, schedules, and work orders to achieve complex program requirements. The Production Control Planner III is responsible for managing production activities across multiple programs, driving resolution of schedule and material conflicts, and ensuring ERP data accuracy. This role also mentors junior planners and provides advanced analysis to support manufacturing execution and delivery performance. Primary Responsibilities: Lead production planning activities across multiple integration projects, balancing capacity, materials, and schedule requirements. Monitor and control work order execution, proactively resolving shortages, engineering changes, and priority conflicts. Interpret, prioritize, and execute MRP action messages to adjust procurement, rescheduling, and work order release decisions. Develop and maintain production schedules, Line of Balance (LOB) charts, and milestone tracking. Provide production control expertise in cross-functional meetings with Program Management, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain. Ensure ERP system accuracy (Deltek Costpoint preferred) for all assigned programs, including work order, WIP, and inventory management. Generate reports, dashboards, and status updates for leadership and program stakeholders. Mentor and guide Production Control Planner I/II team members, providing training and knowledge sharing. Support continuous improvement initiatives for planning processes, KPIs, and reporting tools. Ensure compliance with company policies, AS9100 standards, and government regulations. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field with 4 or more years of experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered. Experience in production planning, materials coordination, or manufacturing operations, with increasing responsibility. Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Deltek Costpoint preferred). Advanced experience interpreting and executing MRP action messages in an ERP system. Demonstrated success in managing production schedules and resolving complex issues in a defense or aerospace environment. Proven ability to work across functions and influence outcomes in a matrixed environment. U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance. Must be a resident of or willing to relocate to the Huntsville / North Alabama area. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. APICS CPIM, CSCP, or similar certification. Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or other data analysis/reporting tools. Experience supporting ETO/MTO manufacturing programs with multi-level BOMs and WBS structures.
