Overview
The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for supporting the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and ensuring compliance with company policies and practices. This role works closely with the Director of Human Resources to implement HR processes and initiatives that align with organizational objectives and foster a positive, productive workplace. Base pay range : $70,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr Duties and Responsibilities
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and employee assessments (e.g., safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, certifications). Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified candidates for open positions; collaborates with managers to identify required skills and competencies. Collects and analyzes data to monitor compensation trends, candidate availability, and market demands. Screens candidates, conducts reference checks, and verifies credentials and experience. Guides candidates through the hiring process and provides feedback as appropriate. Coordinates interview logistics, including scheduling, travel, and accommodations when needed. Ensures compliance with equal employment opportunity (EEO) regulations and other applicable employment laws. Conducts or facilitates background checks and eligibility verifications. Leads new hire orientation and employee recognition programs. Administers HR programs such as compensation, benefits, leave, performance management, disciplinary matters, and training and development. Responds to employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex issues as appropriate. Participates in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Reviews and updates policies and practices to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws. Stays informed on HR best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in human resources and talent management. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills and Abilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities. Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail. Effective time management with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Thorough understanding of EEO, ADA, and related employment laws and guidelines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and maintain confidentiality. Desired Skills and Experience
