Forklift Operator

is responsible for the accurate receiving, storing, transporting, and shipping of products to meet company standards of safety, productivity, and quality. This includes the operation of basic forklifts in the handling of products as well as the use of manual pallet jacks. Must be available to work required hours to meet customer needs.

Schedule: Shift 1: Day Shift (8 hours)

Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Shift 2: Evening Shift (8 hours) - Monday to Friday: 3:00 PM to 11:30PM

Job Details : 6432 Prescott Ave, St. Louis, MO. Pay Range:

DOE Essential Duties (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.) Follow all health and safety procedures and regulations as dictated by the organization and OSHA. Operate forklift with care and with awareness of the people and environment around; under no circumstances should an operator be on their phone while operating the equipment or participating in any other activity that may disrupt their full attention to his/her own safety and the safety of others. Ensure the forklift is properly stored, fueled, cleaned, and ready to operate. Conduct daily inspections and report any maintenance needs or damage. Move inventory and materials across the facility with forklift or with the help of a pallet jack. Stack and organize products. Assist with inventory management tasks, such as counting, recording, or organizing stock, to maintain accurate inventory records and facilitate efficient order fulfillment, utilizing company mandated warehouse management and enterprise resource planning systems, in accordance with distribution center policies. Remove product from trucks or shipping and delivery to proper location. Load and unload freight in an efficient and safe manner, recording all necessary paperwork. Transport products to storage areas using proper equipment and efficiently stack and store product. Perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing and other miscellaneous tasks as needed. Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently while meeting productivity and quality expectations. Check product for accuracy in inventory, damage or deterioration and complete paperwork. Conduct operations and model behavior that promotes a safe environment. This would include looking in the direction of travel, wearing a seat belt, driving at an appropriate speed, and appropriate use of the horn at intersections and where people are present. Sweep and clean the area as needed. Abide by all company rules and policies regarding conduct and safety.

Education and Qualifications: High school degree or equivalent, preferred. License or certification as dictated by the state to operate forklift, required. Two (2) years’ experience working with heavy machinery, sit-down and stand-up forklifts, or other related equipment. Experience with slipsheet attachments and clamp attachments preferred.
