We partner with hospitals, transplant centers and other partners to coordinate the organ and tissue donation process. We are passionate about inspiring our community to register as organ and tissue donors and provide support to the families of those who give the gift of life. Job Summary: Due to growth, HonorBridge is recruiting for a Donor Service Center Coordinator. In this role you will answer referral calls and conduct the preliminary screening relating to the identification and documentation of donors and or potential donors to determine medical suitability. The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of experience in a clinical environment; is comfortable working in a fast-paced call center environment and is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others. EMT's, Paramedics, RNs or LPNs are strongly encouraged to apply. What You'll be Doing: This is a hybrid position. Individuals will be requird to work in person and have some flexibility to work remotely. The schedule for this position is three 12-hour shifts per week. This is a night shift position. Shift hours are 8:00pm – 8:00am and shifts rotate through weekdays and weekends Triages Organ, Tissue, and Eye referrals Apply knowledge of medical criteria in performing donor triage and evaluations. Review electronic medical records and recover necessary information for suitability determination. Negotiate with medical professionals, funeral homes, and other entities in the management of referrals. Notify the appropriate HonorBridge staff of consented donors. Maintain electronic medical record (EMR) access to all available hospitals. Maintain confidentiality of all patient and donor/recipient information Communicate with Medical
Examiners/Coroners/Investigators. Complete referral documentation. Manages multiple logins and passwords, utilizing a variety of software platforms and application. Facilitate the placement of imported organs. Arranges transport of organs and cross matching material to accepting transplant centers When required, allocates imported organs for research. Collects documentation in donor record and organizes material. Ensures confidentiality of donor information and file Contacts by telephone/pager the appropriate HonorBridge staff on potential organ donor referrals. Performs other duties as assigned by the Manager of Donor Services Center. What we are looking for: 2-3 years' experience in a clinical environment such as EMT, Paramedic, RN, or LPN An associate's degree in relevant field of study Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Knowledge of medical terminology Strong ability to analyze and interpret data.
