Buyer
with a passion for procurement, inventory control, and vendor management? Join a fast-growing, global leader in the
wine and spirits industry
as a key member of the
Merchandising team . This is a hands-on, full-time position based in
Northern Chicago, IL , where you'll help shape product strategy, drive purchasing efficiency, and maintain robust supplier relationships across diverse product categories, including
apparel, barware, displays, and promotional items . Key Responsibilities
As the
Buyer , you will lead end-to-end procurement activities and ensure efficient product flow through: Purchasing & Forecasting : Execute procurement aligned with bi-annual planning cycles and distribution timelines.
Inventory Management : Maintain accurate inventory reports; monitor stock levels, pricing, and inbound shipments.
Sales & Assortment Analysis : Analyze product performance to recommend SKU continuations, retirements, or new additions.
Supplier Relations : Source and manage both domestic and international vendors to ensure competitive pricing and adherence to production quality.
Systems Coordination : Ensure consistency between ERP system (NetSuite preferred), internal item catalogs, and warehouse records.
What Youll Bring 3 to 5 years of experience in a
buyer ,
procurement , or
inventory planning
role within
consumer goods
or a related field.
Proven skills in
vendor negotiation
and experience managing
international supply chains
(Asia sourcing a plus).
Proficiency with
ERP systems
and advanced
Microsoft Excel
functions (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage large product assortments with accuracy. Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and cross-functional collaboration. Bachelors degree
