We are a general contractor looking for a Commercial Construction Estimator that will be responsible for analyzing project plans and estimating the cost of construction projects for commercial buildings, such as office buildings, retail spaces, and schools, hospitals, etc. The job involves understanding the scope of the project, reading blueprints and specifications, and using specialized software and tools to create accurate cost estimates.
Responsibilities: Reviewing project plans, specifications, and drawings to understand the scope and requirements of the project. Creating accurate cost estimates for all aspects of the project, including materials, labor, and equipment. Researching and analyzing current market trends, labor costs, and material prices to ensure cost estimates are current and accurate. Work alongside estimating, marketing, and project management team to incorporate schedule, logistics, and other challenges for the creation of a complete proposal. Preparing and submitting bid proposals to clients, including detailed breakdowns of costs and schedules. Negotiating with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure the best possible prices for materials and services. Providing ongoing cost analysis and tracking throughout the project, identifying and addressing any discrepancies or changes in cost. Collaborating with project managers and construction teams to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget. Maintaining a database of pricing information and construction industry trends to inform future cost estimates. Qualifications: 5+ years of experience as an Estimator working in a commercial construction environment desired, but not required. Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Architecture, Engineering or related field of study preferred. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of construction processes, materials, and equipment. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other related software. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. ·
