A
YMCA Childwatch Staff
member is responsible for providing a safe, caring, and engaging environment for children while their parents or guardians are using YMCA facilities. This role involves supervising children, leading age-appropriate activities, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all children in the Childwatch area. Maintain a clean, organized, and child-friendly environment in the Childwatch area, including toys, books, and materials. Ensure that all sign-in/sign-out procedures for children are followed and that records are accurate. Greet parents and children as they arrive, ensuring parents provide necessary information regarding their child’s needs. Ensure parents understand pick-up procedures and are promptly notified if there are any issues with their child. Supervise children during play and activities, ensuring their safety and well-being. We are looking for someone who can work weekdays from 4pm - 7pm and Saturdays 8am - 11:30 am Requirements:
Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent (required). Experience working with children in a daycare, camp, or similar environment (preferred). CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children and adults. Strong problem-solving abilities, especially in situations involving children’s needs or safety concerns. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks at once. Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities. Complimentary membership included!
