Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager with a strong background in HVAC and refrigeration systems to lead the planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical construction projects. This role will be responsible for managing multiple projects from pre-construction through close-out, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule goals are met. The ideal candidate will bring a hands-on understanding of mechanical systems and a proven ability to manage subcontractors, vendors, and field teams. Key Responsibilities
Manage full project lifecycle from pre-construction planning to final commissioning.
Oversee HVAC and refrigeration system design, procurement, installation, and testing.
Coordinate with engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, and clients to ensure project alignment and quality.
Prepare and manage project budgets, schedules, submittals, RFIs, change orders, and documentation.
Conduct site visits to monitor field progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
Collaborate with procurement and field teams to ensure timely delivery and installation of equipment and materials.
Lead project meetings, maintain clear communication with stakeholders, and provide regular updates to leadership.
Ensure adherence to local building codes, OSHA requirements, and industry standards.
Support project close-out processes including punch lists, commissioning, and turnover documentation.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in mechanical construction project management, specifically within HVAC and refrigeration systems.
Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, refrigeration piping, ductwork, controls, and commissioning.
Familiarity with mechanical drawings, specifications, and submittal processes.
Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and teams in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Occasional travel to job sites.
Exposure to construction site conditions including temperature variations, noise, and equipment operation.
Ability to walk, climb ladders, and perform visual inspections on mechanical installations.
