Command Support Specialist
Serves as a Command Support Specialist in the Command Office of DLA Disposition Services. Acts as a principal focal point for coordinating the clerical and administrative activities of the Command Office, both internally and with outside organizations. Conducts studies, surveys and/or factfinding inquiries of a high visibility, complex and/or sensitive nature relative to the management of mission performance subject to changing priorities and new workloads. Formalizes reports of findings and conclusions recommending solutions and submits to the DLA Disposition Services Director/Command Group/higher headquarters for approval. Follows-up on approved recommendations to assure implementation. Plans and executes Protocol activities relating to DLA dignitaries and distinguished visitors such as high-level U.S. and Foreign senior officials of executive agencies of Federal government. Responsible for Change of Command, Relinquishment of Command, Assumption of Command, Retirement, Promotion and Inactivation ceremonies. Acts as Orientation Coordinator for newly appointed DLA Disposition Services Directors/Visiting DLA Staff. Prepares statements, fact sheets, correspondence, multi-service ceremony scripts/sequence of events and layouts by conducting independent research, collecting information and data. Requirements: Conditions of Employment: Qualifications: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-11 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Performing reviews, analysis, and evaluation of administrative and management programs related to administrative support services. Assembling and maintaining documentary material for studies, correspondence, reports and/or briefings. Working with travel regulations and automated travel systems. B. Education Substitution: Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Education must be from a college or university accredited by an organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education. C. Combination: Combinations of successfully completed post-high school education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for grade level GS-09.
