Principal Purpose:
Provide assistance to elementary students, parents, teachers, staff, and the administrative assistant in the daily operations of the school office.
Essential Functions:
Complete daily and monthly school attendance using Skyward, completing reports as needed. Prepare correspondence and communications regarding student absences Contact parents daily regarding unexcused absences. Assist with student registration and withdrawal. Prepare and maintain records related to student before and after school transportation arrangements. Update and maintain student cumulative folders. Receive and receipt payments from students and parents. Answer and direct incoming phone communications. Greet students, parents, staff, and community as they enter the building maintaining a pleasant and professional atmosphere. Check in parents and visitors, providing proper identification. Assist with preparation and distribution of student test materials as requested. Assist with ordering and inventory of school and building supplies. Assist with acquiring teacher substitutes as needed. Prepare and distribute incoming and outgoing mail. Provide coverage for the health room in the absence of the health assistant. Provide coverage for the administrative assistant as needed. Other related duties to ensure the smooth operations of the school and the district. Professional
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Computer proficiency to include use of MS Office, Skyward, excel, and other education related software. Experience working in an office environment, preferably in an educational setting. Acquire and maintain first aid/CPR certification.
Work Environment: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: Generally, the job requires 10% sitting, 50% walking, and 40% standing. The job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

Benefits: School Employee Benefit Board (SEBB) Eligibility determination: All eligibility determinations are based on rules in Chapters 182-30 and 182-31 of the Washington Administrative Code (WAC). If the position is anticipated to work a minimum of 630 hours in a school year, then that position would be deemed benefit eligible. SEBB benefits include medical, vision, dental, long-term disability and life insurance. Supplemental coverages are also available.
Retirement Eligibility determination: A certificated position participates in the Teacher Retirement System (TRS) which requires at least 5 months of 70 or more hours of compensated employment during a school year to be eligible for Washington State Retirement. A classified position participates in the School Employee Retirement System (SERS) if the position is expected to require at least 5 months of 70 hours or more for two consecutive years (initially) of employment.
