Accounts Payable Clerk
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join a leading manufacturing company in Fairfield, New Jersey. This is a hybrid, contract to permanent position offering flexibility with four days of remote work and one day in the office. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the Accounts Payable Manager while ensuring accurate and efficient processing of invoices and payments. Responsibilities: Process and review invoices for accuracy and proper coding in compliance with company policies. Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, invoices, and receipts to maintain payment integrity. Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments. Maintain records of transactions and prepare reports using Excel and Great Plains Accounting software. Assist the Accounts Payable Manager with daily operations and provide support to team members as needed. Ensure adherence to accounting standards while maintaining a high level of accuracy in all tasks. Participate in system updates or transitions as required, ensuring smooth integration of processes. Monitor and reconcile accounts to ensure proper documentation and financial accountability. Address inquiries related to accounts payable and provide prompt resolutions. Requirements: Proven experience in accounts payable operations, preferably within the manufacturing industry. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software such as Great Plains, Oracle, or similar systems. Strong understanding of three-way matching processes and invoice coding. Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while handling independent tasks. Effective communication skills to interact with vendors and internal departments. Adaptability to learn and navigate new systems or processes. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
