Program Leader
The City of Torrance is seeking a Program Leader to staff our Bartlett Senior Center programs! The Community Services Department is committed to providing quality services, activities, programs, and facilities for all those who live, learn, work, and play in the City of Torrance. The Department is a diverse organization which consists of five Divisions that work collaboratively to meet the vision, mission, and goals of the department: Administrative Services, Cultural Services, Library Services, Parks Services, and Recreation Services. The Recreation Services Division is responsible for overseeing recreation activities including youth and adult sports, management of city facilities (park buildings) and a variety of special events throughout the year. The Division provides recreational and educational opportunities for persons of all ages and abilities including Adaptive Recreation and Sports, Adult Sports Leagues, After School Club, Aquatics, Day Camps, Early Childhood Education, Sea-Aire Golf Course, Senior Citizen Programs, Special Events, Teen Programs Middle School, Teen Programs High School, and Youth Sports. The Bartlett Senior Center offers a place that provides a welcoming environment where seniors can come together and engage in a variety of activities tailored to their interests and preferences. From exercise classes to a lunch program and craft clubs, the Center offers diverse interest-based activities to cater to different passions and hobbies. Amenities offered include a mini fitness center, multiple activity rooms, billiards tables, and more, ensuring there's something for everyone to enjoy. The Torrance Travelers trips offer seniors the chance to embark on exciting adventures and create lasting memories with fellow members. Additionally, a walking club, gardening club, lapidary workshop, and tech days are offered to keep individuals active, creative, and learning. As a partner of Optimum Life Educational Foundation (OLEF), a non-profit organization, the Center offers multiple classes covering a wide range of subjects, providing opportunities for continuous growth and exploration. Hours: Hours for the Senior Centers are approximately 10-20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. This position may be required to work weekends and holidays.
