The Special Commitment Center has an opportunity for you to join our team as an Administrative Assistant 3. This position supports the Chief of Secure Residential Operations, to provide administrative support duties for the purposes of facilitating the Assistant Director's own work. The Special Commitment Center is committed to providing evidence-based treatment to reduce recidivism and increase public safety. We are looking for teammates who share our vision while promoting engagement and safety, leading to better outcomes for our agency, our clients, and our community. Pierce County employees are eligible to receive an Orca Card for transportation needs. SCC employees also receive an additional $10 per day premium pay in addition to advertised salary and a free ORCA card for transportation use. Ferry transportation is provided to McNeil Island employees. Opportunities performed on-site at this work location at least three days a week may be eligible for an additional 5% premium pay in addition to the advertised salary. Some of what you will do: Provide administrative support to the Director of Security and Safety and those in their chain of command Utilize independent judgment to prioritize, establish, and modify workflow in support of all assigned tasks Coordinate, assign, instruct; track, research, review, correct, follow up, and compile various complex administrative functions, projects, and flowsheets Assist with hiring and other confidential personnel activities. Serve as liaison between the Chief, managers, and line staff who fall under the Chief's chain of command. Coordinate and track necessary information on new employees, resident visitors, professional visitors, contractors, and SCC job applicants Operate smoothly in a fast-paced work environment; maintain flexible and adaptable approaches regarding administrative functions. Who should apply? High school graduation or GED

AND Three years of progressively responsible experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work OR Formal education will substitute year-for-year for experience OR Four years of on-hands practical experience working in a professional office setting. Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities: Strong organization and administrative skills Ability to prioritize work, find information quickly, complete work, and return to critical tasks in the midst of multiple interruptions Ability to independently manage time and tasks Strong sense of customer service and team orientation Advanced experience using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, and internet applications Please submit the following in addition to your application: Chronological resume.
