Night Auditor, Lodge Kohler

Opportunity
The Night Auditor will be responsible for all end-of-day accounting functions and will need to communicate with the security team to ensure the safety of our guests. The Night Auditor should be capable of working independently with checking guests in and out, reconciling accounts, communicating with housekeeping and taking initiative for necessary tasks. A flexible schedule and a willingness to work overtime when necessary are essential.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Registration/Departure Prompt, cheerful and proper greeting of guests and/or members. Register guest/member in and out of applicable software system(s). Provide guests with information on the venue and resort. Use guest name frequently. Cashiering Handle all monetary transactions at the front desk as appropriate according to cash handling guidelines. Accurately post or refund guest charges and fees. Guest Room Reservations Respond to reservation requests made by guests. Explain rate structure, available rooms, facilities and services. Knowledge of all facilities and hours of operations. Record and conduct guest room wake-up calls. Issue safe deposit boxes to hotel guests following standard operating procedures. Informational Services Provide courteous response to special requests. Knowledgeable about property, surrounding area, local attractions and shopping. Responsible for the enforcement of venue policies and procedures. Respond appropriately during emergencies and disturbances (know who to contact, if outside assistance is needed, appropriate documentation, etc.). Be knowledgeable of all H&RE Group programs, events and classes and respond to inquiries. Monitor lobby traffic. Adhere to established safety procedures and guidelines. Guest Account Audit Post and verify guest transactions. Verify room rates, no-shows and room status. Post room and tax to guest accounts and close and balance guest accounts.
II. Departmental Audit
Organize and balance transaction vouchers for each department. Separate, balance and compute settlements for individual cashiers and each system. Run reports to verify sales, charges, and responsibility for each area. Process credits if necessary with proper backup. Make adjustments or corrections necessary to balance. Post charges and settlements. Send all backup to Accounting. Revenue Responsibilities Prepare room variance report detailing fixed rates and complimentary rooms. Post any adjustments, credits, or charges requested by accounting. Post any late charges and settle accounts. Verify, post, and submit any adjustments, cancellation fees, or credits performed during the day. Transfer information from Micros and Fidelio reports to the Night Audit Distribution report. Accurately compute statistics. Highlight any areas out of balance. Miscellaneous Record and conduct guest room wake-up calls Issue safe deposit boxes to hotel guests following standard operating procedures. Perform miscellaneous clerical jobs as assigned. Responsible for all opening and closing procedures when scheduled. Complete special projects as assigned by leaders.
Skills/Requirements
High school degree or equivalency; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred. 1-2 years of proven auditing, accounting/bookkeeping experience with previous hospitality experience preferred. Experience with computerized property management systems preferred. Excellent computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, state/national regulations, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) preferred. Strong aptitude for numbers, spreadsheets, and financial reports.

The hourly range for this position is $20.00-$22.00. The specific hourly rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
