Job Summary
We are looking for a seasoned and visionary
Technical Architect
with deep expertise in
Cosmos DB
and
RESTful API
design and development. In this role, you will architect scalable, secure, and high-performance backend solutions that power enterprise-grade applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define best practices, guide development, and ensure seamless integration of data and services across platforms.
Key Responsibilities Design and architect end-to-end backend solutions leveraging Cosmos DB, REST APIs, and cloud-native services, primarily on Azure. Lead architecture reviews, develop technical specifications, and contribute to solution blueprints and integration patterns. Define and enforce API standards, including versioning, security protocols (OAuth, JWT), rate limiting, and documentation. Optimize Cosmos DB configurations for scalability, partitioning strategy, indexing, and performance tuning. Collaborate with enterprise architects, product managers, and engineering teams to align technical solutions with business goals. Mentor and guide development teams on best practices in database design, API management, and cloud infrastructure. Ensure solutions are designed with strong security, reliability, and high availability considerations. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends related to distributed systems and NoSQL databases. Required Skills & Qualifications
8 to 12+ years of experience in software architecture and development. Strong hands-on expertise in: Cosmos DB
(partitioning, indexing, consistency models, throughput management) RESTful APIs
(design, development, lifecycle management, documentation) Backend technologies such as
.NET Core ,
Java , or
Node.js .
Experience with
Azure Cloud Services
including Azure Functions, API Management, Event Grid, etc. Deep understanding of microservices architecture, API gateways, and serverless computing. Proven leadership skills in architecture discussions, code reviews, and mentoring developers. Demonstrated ability to design systems for scalability, security, and high availability in cloud environments. Preferred Qualifications
Azure certifications such as
Azure Solutions Architect Expert . Familiarity with API management platforms like Azure API Management, Apigee, or Kong. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (ARM templates, Bicep, Terraform). Prior experience migrating data to Cosmos DB from SQL or MongoDB. Exposure to event-driven architectures using Azure Event Hub or Service Bus. Competencies
