Overview

Director, TRIO Program for Student Achievement role at Middlesex Community College (MCC). This grant-funded position oversees the TRIO Program for Student Achievement, serving 100 eligible students with documented disabilities, in collaboration with the Student Access and Support Services Office. The PSA provides academic and financial aid advising, career and transfer counseling, and individualized tutoring. The Director recruits and supervises staff and eligible students, delivers services, manages the grant budget, and develops program policies, evaluations, annual performance reports, and continuation grants. Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of the PSA, including recruitment of staff and students, direct service activities, and budget administration. Interview, hire, and supervise staff to provide services within the PSA. Oversee the development of evaluations and annual performance reports for the program. Develop and maintain procedural elements of program policy. Coordinate relationships with other programs and divisions of the college. Maintain an accurate, current record-keeping system. Develop, manage, and monitor the PSA budget. Maintain positive relationships with MCC faculty and staff regarding courses, student progress, and supplemental instruction and support for PSA students. Maintain external relations with the Department of Education and other TRIO programs. Promote and maintain responsive community relations. Provide supplemental instruction and academic and adjustment support to PSA students as needed. Ensure the grant management database is maintained, updated, and edited. Facilitate referrals to appropriate community agencies to assist students in obtaining necessary services (e.g., Community Mental Health providers, Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission). Consult regularly with community agencies and resources to support students with psychiatric disabilities. Maintain professional knowledge of trends and practices in disability support services, including adaptive/assistive technology. Serve as an academic advisor for eligible PSA students and assist with course selection aligned to goals; meet with students regularly to address needs and develop self-advocacy skills. Participate in training on school policies and procedures for academic advising of PSA students. Collaborate with TRIO Student Success Program, Student Access and Support Services, and other co-curricular/support services for PSA students. Coordinate support services to eligible PSA students and act as a student advocate within the academic community. Attend and participate in orientation, honors, scholarship, leadership awards, and commencement programs; engage with local community advocacy groups. Participate in professional development, regularly scheduled staff meetings, and college-wide planning on student support services and special populations. Participate in Faculty/Staff Association and ad hoc committees as requested by college leadership. Perform administrative tasks related to department activities and other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Special Education, or a closely related field; minimum of three years of experience working directly with individuals with disabilities, including support for students with psychiatric and emotional disabilities, and experience with diverse student populations in educational settings; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Excellent communication, organization, leadership, and planning skills. Experience with program and budget management, including oversight of federally-funded education programs and grant administration. Familiarity with issues affecting disabled, low-income, and first-generation college students. Experience implementing disability support services programs and providing case management. Ability to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs, and goals. Proven capacity to form strong coalitions with internal and external constituencies. Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual skills are a plus. Additional Information

This position is supported through federal grant funding. Continued employment is contingent upon ongoing grant funding; future changes in federal funding may impact the position. Salary range: $80,000 - $84,000; actual salary depends on academic background and experience. Salary and Benefits
