The University of Virginia Department of Pediatrics and Division of Primary Care Pediatrics invite applications for Division Director of Primary Care Pediatrics. Academic pediatric generalists at the rank of Associate or Full Professor are encouraged to apply. General responsibilities include coordinating and enhancing all clinical, academic and research activities of the Division. The Director will also be primarily responsible for creating and implementing the vision and goals for the Division, in alignment with the broader strategic plans for the Department of Pediatrics and UVA Health Children’s. Academic responsibilities include overseeing all divisional faculty, advancing their careers by providing professional and personal development opportunities, overseeing high-quality innovative training, supporting research activities for the division, and modeling a culture of inquiry to ensure active engagement in quality improvement, scholarly excellence and innovation in all missions. The ideal candidate for the UVA Pediatric Primary Care Division Director position is an established academic generalist with strong leadership skills. An active research program is desirable but not required. The Division Director will be expected to actively participate in clinical service. Applicants must be board certified/eligible in pediatrics and have an M.D. degree or equivalent. The position is for tenure or non-tenure tracks at the professor or associate professor rank as appropriate.
