Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade. A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to lead the City of Montgomery efforts in growing and sustaining its small business ecosystem. The position directs the City of Montgomery small business programs including SBOSS (Small Business One-Stop Shop), Access Montgomery, and coordinates initiatives that empower entrepreneurs to launch, grow, and thrive. This role is central to ensure equitable access to capital, expanding support services for small business, and building a resilient inclusive local economy. These efforts will mobilize financial and technical resources through public -private partnerships, including cultivating investments from banks, philanthropic organizations and government agencies. The position reports directly to the Director of Economic Development. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Business, Public Administration, Urban Planning, Economic Development, or closely related field and (5) five years of experience in small business development, entrepreneurship support, or economic development in a government or nonprofit setting. NOTE: Qualifying education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job will be considered Kind of Examination
