The Food & Beverage team enables a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is fresh, in stock, available and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. They are experts of operations, process and efficiency. This team leads food and food services including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all Food and Beverage areas of the store.
Starbucks Barista Role
As a Starbucks Barista, you will be part of a team that delivers a consistent Starbucks experience, maintains food quality and freshness, follows safety guidelines, and supports guest services and store operations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience by providing a fresh and abundant shopping experience during all hours of operations, prioritizing the guests needs over task.
- Uphold and maintain the execution of the Food & Beverage Standards.
- Execute food and beverage processes including deliveries, replenishment, in-stocks routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing, organizing, and storing reserve product.
- Stay aware of current and future promotions within Starbucks.
- Follow all Target and Starbucks routines to deliver a consistent guest experience while completing tasks efficiently and maintaining food safety.
- Support the Starbucks Drive Up process to ensure digital guest orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
- Maintain an inviting dining area for guests throughout shift.
- Engage with guests to meet and exceed their expectations based on Starbucks standards.
- Produce handcrafted beverages and food to specifications on recipe cards.
- Follow all food safety requirements, including monitoring and recording temperature-sensitive items.
- Complete and record cleaning tasks in the Starbucks space as outlined in best practices.
- Identify damaged, recalled or expired items and process according to best practice.
- Ensure accurate in-stocks by placing store-initiated orders according to best practices.
- Follow proper perishable inventory procedures to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Perform product sampling following best practices.
- Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available to solve guest issues and improve their experience.
- Complete required training and certifications related to quality control of Starbucks products.
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
- Work safely at all times; comply with safety policies and report hazards.
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pickup (OPU) and Drive-up (DU) with compliance to laws.
- Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you perform daily tasks.
- Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs and thank them for shopping at Target.
- All other duties based on business needs.

Minimum skills and experiences
- Previous Starbucks/food service experience preferred, but not required.
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other equipment as directed.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to resolve guest questions quickly and maintain attention to detail across multi-step processes.
- Capability to remain focused in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks within established timeframes.
Additional expectations
- Accurately handle cash register operations as needed.
- Climb up and down ladders.
- Scan, handle and move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 44 pounds.
- Flexible schedule with reliable attendance.
- Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures and allergens as needed.
- Be mobile and able to work across shift lengths; Drive-Up and carryout duties may apply.
