About Company
Fortis Employment Law is a boutique civil rights and employment law practice led by Maryland employment attorney Joseph Gibson. We represent Maryland workers in discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and wage theft cases. As a solo-founded firm, you won't get lost in a big bureaucracy — instead, you'll work directly with the managing attorney, gaining one-on-one mentorship and significant courtroom experience early in your career.
Every case is staffed with two attorneys — you and the managing attorney, or, as we grow, a senior attorney. This model ensures you'll never be on your own, but you'll also take real responsibility for moving cases forward, building skills, and directly serving clients.
We are a remote-first practice: attorneys can work anywhere with a quiet, professional space and reliable internet. We gather quarterly for in-person sync meetings to stay connected and aligned. #WHLAW2
