At Kaiser, you are One of Us. Position Summary: The Equipment Operator is a key driver of our success in our Wisconsin Terminal. The Equipment Operator utilizes forklifts with capacities up to 35,000lbs to load 48' stepdeck trailers to maximum capacity by weight and volume. This is a dynamic role which requires high stress-tolerance, interpersonal skill, collaboration, and ability to make decisions due to changing priorities. Job Responsibilities: Loading and Unloading freight on 48' stepdeck trailers Operate Forklifts with capacities up to 35,000lbs Operate all yard equipment safely and efficiently Assist with freight securement including chaining, strapping, and tarping of freight Assist in spotting, bracing, and blocking of freight Lead the 2nd shift yard loading process Participate in daily pre-shift operations meetings This is a full-time, 2nd shift, hourly position and you must be available 50+ hours per week. The Equipment Operator often works 6 days per week based on business need. Manually or mechanically load or unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices, or other transport vehicles. Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, or boxes and secure material or products for transport to designated areas. Inspect product load for accuracy and safely move it around the warehouse or facility to ensure timely and complete delivery. Signal workers to discharge, dump, or level materials. Weigh materials or products and record weight or other production data on tags or labels. Perform routine maintenance on vehicles or auxiliary equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, recharging batteries, fueling, or replacing liquefied-gas tank. Hook tow trucks to trailer hitches and fasten attachments, such as graders, plows, rollers, or winch cables to tractors, using hitchpins. Move controls to drive gasoline- or electric-powered trucks, cars, or tractors and transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas. Move levers or controls that operate lifting devices, such as forklifts, lift beams with swivel-hooks, hoists, or elevating platforms, to load, unload, transport, or stack material. Other Experience and Qualifications: 2 years of forklift experience (required) High School Diploma (required) Heavy Equipment experience (preferred) Previous supervisory experience (preferred) Previous rigging experience (preferred) Previous experience in the trucking industry (preferred) Strong measurement and math skills Able to lift and carry up to 130 lbs Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions Application Instructions: E-Mail a Rsum: jlrogers@
