Position Location:

Position Hours:

1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Monday - Friday)

Position Wage:

Hourly rate dependent on experience. Salary range from $22.00 - $26.00.

Salaries are based on a number of factors, including the skills and experience of the candidate. It is common to be hired at the lower to middle end of a salary range and while it is possible to be hired at the higher end, it often requires unique circumstances, such as proven expertise.

Job Description:

Summary:

Responsible for safe and efficient operation of a forklift at the Pearl facility. This person will move customer containers and heat treat baskets for the purpose of load set up, load staging, furnace loading and unloading, plastic wrapping, and placement of finished product in the correct shipping area.

The material handler is also responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the production area which includes neatly organizing empty customer containers (tubs, skids, boxes, etc…), emptying garbage hoppers, and driving the floor sweeper through the shop on a daily basis to help maintain cleanliness and organization.

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

Responsibilities:

Load Set Up

* Arrange fresh customer product for the operator to build into furnace loads * Set up the correct basket to perform racking and load set up * Retrieve the correct fixture that the operator needs to set up a load.

Load Staging

* Arrange racked and loaded baskets on staging racks in preparation for furnace loading

Furnace Loading / Unloading

* Load and unload racked and loaded baskets into furnaces at the direction of the furnace operator

Load Staging at Intermediate Processing

* Arrange racked and loaded baskets on staging racks while they are waiting for additional processing (straightening, blast, inspection…)

Packaging Set Up

* Set up completed parts to be packaged into customer containers by retrieving the container * This may also include assisting while parts placed on skids are wrapped with plastic

Completed Parts

* Deliver completed parts to the appropriate shipping area

Cleaning / Organization

* Arrange empty customer containers neatly to maintain shop organization * Empty garbage hoppers on a daily basis * Drive floor sweeper through the shop to sweep garbage, scale, debris, and other material. Contents of what was swept shall be emptied into garbage dumpster.

Resupplying

* Periodically, it may be required to retrieve supplies such as quench salt and deliver to the appropriate work area. This may also include restocking bathrooms and break rooms with supplies such as toilet paper, hand towels, and other various cleaning supplies.

Forklift Maintenance

* Material Handler is responsible for the safe operation of forklift and floor sweeper * Material Handler is responsible for reporting any maintenance issue with forklift and floor sweeper so that it may get repaired. * Material Handler is responsible for ensuring the daily maintenance for proper operation of forklift and floor sweeper. * Material Handler is responsible for any damage caused by his/her/their forklift or floor sweeper operation

Minimum Requirements:** All hires are contingent upon a 9-panel hair follicle drug test amp; background check.

A valid, independent third-party forklift certification (e.g. Wolter, etc.), which has a behind-the-wheel component, is required.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Experience:

Prior factory work or Heat Treating experience preferred

Hard Skills:
