A full-time Sign Language Interpreter position is available for the 2025-2026 school year at an elementary school in Bridgeport, CT. This role offers the opportunity to work 1:1 with a student, providing essential communication support in a dynamic educational environment. Ideal candidates will possess a strong background in educational interpreting and hold relevant certification to ensure the highest quality interpretation services.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct 1:1 sign language interpretation for an elementary school student
Facilitate effective communication between the student, teachers, and peers
Collaborate with educational staff to support the students learning and participation
Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions
Qualifications:
Proof of strong interpreting skills, such as RID/NIC certification and/or a high EIPA score
Experience working in a school setting is highly preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to interpret complex educational content accurately and fluently
