A school district in Richmond, VA is seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for the 2025-26 school year. This full-time, contract position offers the opportunity to support students communication development at an elementary school, working 37.5 hours per week. The assignment will begin immediately and extend through the natural school year.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting Speech Language Pathologists in providing direct therapy services to students under supervision
Implementing individualized therapy plans focused on improving speech and language skills
Collecting and documenting student progress and maintaining therapy records
Collaborating with teachers, families, and other school staff to support student communication goals
Participating in team meetings and professional development activities as required
Preferred Qualifications:
Recent experience working as an SLPA in a school setting
Knowledge of elementary-aged student communication development
Ability to follow therapy protocols and adapt interventions as directed
Strong organizational and communication skills
Current SLPA certification or licensure as required by state guidelines
