A school near Tecumseh, MI is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support middle school students with mild to moderate special needs. This contract position runs from August 18, 2025, to June 12, 2026, with official dates to be confirmed. The successful candidate will work in-person with a caseload of 11 students in grades 4 through 8. The regular work hours are 7:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., with a 10-minute grace period for arrival and departure.

Key Responsibilities: Provide individualized instruction and support to students with Autism or Cognitively Impaired needs. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) aligned with student goals. Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to promote student success. Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional techniques as needed. Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that supports emotional and academic growth. Qualifications and Experience: Must hold a valid Michigan Special Education (SPED) Certification. Endorsement in Culturally Impaired (CI) or Autism is required. Proven experience working effectively with students diagnosed with Autism or Cognitive Impairments. Strong emotional intelligence coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families. Work Schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, in accordance with the school calendar.
