A full-time opportunity is available for a skilled paraprofessional with sign language interpreting abilities to support a high school student with moderate to severe needs. This contract position is ideal for someone passionate about making a meaningful impact in the educational journey of a non-verbal student who is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). The role entails providing dedicated 1:1 support, fostering communication and learning within a K-12 setting in the Valley Center area.

Responsibilities include: Providing individualized support to a high school student with moderate/severe needs Facilitating effective communication through ASL Collaborating with educators and specialists to implement tailored instructional strategies Assisting the student in academic and social activities to promote engagement and development Preferred qualifications: Experience working as a Paraprofessional or Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings Proficiency in ASL with the ability to facilitate clear communication EIPA certification is preferred but not required Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work patiently in a 1:1 support role Location: Valley Center, California (exact location confidential) Duration: Contract through the upcoming school year, starting August 16, 2025 This position offers the opportunity to work closely with a dedicated student and contribute to their educational success through specialized support.
