A high school in Lowell, MA is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) or Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support their growing needs for the 2025-2026 school year. This contract opportunity offers a part-time schedule of 14 hours per week, spread over two days, providing crucial assistance in managing the speech therapy caseload within the school setting.
Responsibilities:
Support the primary SLP by implementing speech and language therapy plans for students under supervision.
Conduct speech-language therapy sessions with individuals or groups as assigned.
Document student progress and maintain therapy logs in compliance with therapy goals.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to facilitate communication and support student development.
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of materials and therapy environments.
Qualifications:
Current certification or licensure as an SLPA or SLP.
Experience working within a school environment preferred.
Strong understanding of speech and language development and disorders.
Ability to work independently while following treatment plans and directives from the supervising SLP.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
