A middle school is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year to support students in a Social Emotional Resource program focusing on high incidence Emotional Disturbance (ED). Nine-month school year (NSY) Key Responsibilities: Provide specialized instruction and support to middle school students with emotional disturbance and other high incidence needs. Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) focused on social-emotional growth and academic development. Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies to meet individual needs. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters emotional regulation and social skills. Communicate regularly with families and stakeholders regarding student progress and goals. Qualifications: Active Kansas Special Education License is required. Licensing or endorsement in high incidence disabilities is preferred. Experience working with students with Emotional Disturbance or other high incidence disabilities is highly desirable. Strong understanding of social-emotional learning strategies and behavior intervention techniques. Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
