We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to join our team as Vice President of Procurement Excellence. This role will report directly to the Chief Procurement Officer and will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the strategic vision for our Procurement function. The successful candidate will provide leadership across key areas of the Procurement Function including digitalization, risk management and responsible sourcing/ESG, business process optimization, data analytics, reporting & performance management, program management and training.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Vision:
Play a critical role in developing and executing the Procurement strategy, and ensuring alignment with all the global business units and stakeholders across all functions.
Digital Strategy (Source to Pay):
Accountable for development and execution of best-in-class technologies to drive efficiency and productivity across the source-to-pay value stream, enabling step-level improvement in performance.
Risk Management and Responsible Sourcing (ESG):
Define and govern strategy to identify, assess, and mitigate procurement and supply chain risks, ensuring resilience and continuity; champion the integration of ESG principles into the procurement process, promoting sustainable and responsible sourcing and compliance.
Business Processes:
Establish and optimize procurement processes, systems and policies to drive efficiency. Define GBS strategy, develop business requirements to leverage Global Business Solutions, and drive governance to ensure delivery of SLAs and performance metrics.
Data Analytics:
Lead development and implementation of advanced analytics to drive informed decisions, enhance procurement performance, and support proactive risk mitigation.
Reporting & Performance Management:
Own the reporting and performance management of the Procurement function; participate in developing the Annual Strategic Plan (ASR) and drive accountability to deliver on ASR commitments.
Training and Development:
Develop and execute a comprehensive learning and development program including competency assessment, curriculum, and governance.
Digital Strategy (BD):
Develop and implement BD’s global source-to-pay digital strategy in alignment with GBS.
Risk and Responsible Sourcing Strategy:
Lead enterprise-level risk and responsible sourcing strategy in collaboration with category management and businesses.
Data Analytics Strategy:
Lead analytics strategy including maintenance of procurement analytics, dashboards and reporting tools to support strategic decision-making.
Business Process:
Establish and document global standards for procurement policy and process; interface with Global Business Solutions and support functional audits as required.
Sphere of influence:
Global Procurement Function, Integrated Supply Chain Leadership Team, Global Business Services, Business Leadership, Executive Leadership Team as required.
Requirements
Demonstrated understanding of the Source to Pay process including category management, contract management and P2P best practices, policies, and tools.
Prior experience developing and implementing Digital Procurement Strategies (Source to Pay).
Strong analytical and financial acumen with ability to integrate into business and functional processes.
Proven experience driving large-scale change management across a global matrix organization.
Demonstrated knowledge of end-to-end supply chain risk and resiliency strategies and emerging ESG regulations.
Prior experience implementing or working with Global Business Service Organizations and/or shared services.
Proven knowledge and experience with Supplier Management.
Strong presentation skills and experience presenting to C-suite level audiences.
Hands-on problem solver with a bias for action.
Experience with platforms such as SAP, JD Edwards, Coupa, iValua, GEP; knowledge of P2P best practices.
Lean / Six Sigma training or experience with Lean methodologies.
Ability to work across cultures and regions with strong interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of Procurement Policy and Processes.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
Minimum 15 years of work experience across Procurement and Supply Chain.
