A full-time Occupational Therapist opportunity is available in San Diego, CA, serving K-12 students with moderate to severe disabilities. This contract position spans the entire school year and involves providing services across 2-3 schools on an itinerant basis. The role offers the chance to impact a diverse caseload of approximately 55 students, supporting their developmental and functional goals.
The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role. Key responsibilities include: Conducting comprehensive assessments to evaluate students needs and progress. Developing and implementing individualized therapy plans tailored to moderate to severe disabilities. Collaborating closely with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success. Managing and maintaining documentation in compliance with school policies and regulations. Delivering direct therapy services across multiple school locations. Qualifications and Experience: Valid Occupational Therapist licensure with experience in school-based settings. Proven ability to work effectively with K-12 students, particularly those with moderate to severe disabilities. Strong assessment and intervention skills tailored to educational environments. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work with school staff and families. Flexibility and organization to manage an itinerant caseload across multiple sites. This position offers a structured 37.5-hour workweek with the rewarding responsibility of enhancing students educational outcomes through occupational therapy.
