Senior Director, Product Management Team Lead (Late Phase & Commercialization) Location:
Foster City Responsibilities
Lead a team of product and project management professionals within the PDM organization, collaborating with PDM Product Strategy Team Leads to support a diverse portfolio across development and commercial stages. Serve as a subject matter expert in late-phase product management, including launch planning and early commercialization milestones. Develop and execute product strategies with key milestones, budgeting, and resource allocation in partnership with PDM Product Strategy Leads. Support Planisware (G.Plan) implementation and data flow for milestone planning and resource allocation. Coordinate with PDM Operations Management and Finance on budget information collection and product portfolio reporting and analytics. Lead non-product strategic initiatives and coach/direct PM development across career levels. Qualifications
Degree in life sciences or a relevant business area with 4+ years of experience in Pharmaceuticals, Biosciences, or related industry; or MS with 12+ years; or PhD with 10+ years relevant experience. Proven track record in late-phase and commercialization-stage biopharma program management, collaborating with Clinical Development and Commercial teams. Experience coordinating cross-functional activities for BLA filings, with integrated project plans and timely submission components. Strong business acumen to align development and launch strategies with commercial goals and data-driven decision-making. Experience leading end-to-end tech transfers across all lifecycle stages, including CDMOs, with timeline risk management and cross-functional coordination. Knowledge of regulatory expectations and readiness to enable manufacturing execution; basic understanding of clinical trial design and IMP demand planning. Ability to partner with product/project leaders to set vision and strategy for cross-functional teams; strong influencing and executive-level communication skills. Experience leading PM teams and demonstrated leadership qualities: business acumen, collaboration, high-performing team development, accountability, and strategic vision. The salary range for this position is: $243,100.00 - $314,600.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary by role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans. Eligible employees may participate in benefit plans, subject to plan terms.
