Lead a team of product and project management professionals reporting to the Executive Director of Product & Project Management within the Pharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing (PDM) organization. Partner with PDM Product Strategy Team Leads to support a diverse portfolio of small molecule and biologics drug candidates across development and commercial stages.
Coordinate with three Senior Directors serving as Product Management Team Leads, each with deep expertise in early development, late-stage development and commercialization, and commercial phases.
Serve as a subject matter expert for commercial biopharma programs across the Product & Project Management group; PMs support programs across all lifecycle stages using this specialized expertise as programs transition from early development to commercialization.
Lead non-product strategic initiatives through the Director-level PM reporting to this role, contributing to broader organizational priorities.
Focus area responsibilities include leading PMs, serving as SME on commercial product milestones, developing and executing product strategy with milestones, budgeting and resource allocation, and supporting data-driven portfolio reporting.
Support and implement G.Plan (Planisware) and G. Plan product templates; ensure accurate data flow into PDM milestone planning and resource-allocation tools.
Assist in collecting product budget information and enable PMs to gather budget data per product; support product portfolio reporting and analytics.
Lead and manage Director-level PMs on non-product projects; coach and develop PMs at various career levels.
Qualications
An advanced degree in life sciences or a relevant business discipline (e.g., MBA) with 14+ years of post-graduation experience, or MS with 12+ years of relevant experience, or PhD with 10+ years of relevant experience.
Proven track record of successfully PM’ing commercial biopharma programs, working with Commercial teams.
Strategic commercial acumen with a deep understanding of biopharma commercialization processes—including launch planning, market access, pricing, and promotional strategy.
Experience leading end-to-end technology transfers for commercial manufacturing, including collaboration with CDMOs, timelines, risk mitigation, documentation, and cross-functional coordination.
Familiarity with commercial compliance, promotional review processes (MLR/PRC), and labeling constraints.
Ability to partner with product and project leaders to set vision and strategy for cross-functional teams.
Ability to navigate a highly networked environment with strong influencing skills.
Expertise in developing and managing project scope, deliverables, risks and resource requirements; strong analytical capability to summarize and present complex information.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
Ability to understand and communicate scientific and business elements of pharmaceutical/biotech products.
Experience leading PM teams; leadership qualities include collaboration, team development, accountability, cross-functional engagement, program management, strategic vision, executive presence, coaching, goal setting and performance management. Demonstrated ability to lead without authority.

The salary range for this position is: $243,100.00 - $314,600.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
