We are currently hiring a
Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
for a full-time, 6-month assignment to cover a leave of absence in
White Swan, Washington . This role is ideal for an SLPA who is passionate about working in a
school-based setting , collaborating with educators and families, and making a meaningful impact on student communication and language development. The successful candidate will provide direct therapy services under the supervision of a licensed SLP and will play a critical role in helping students reach their speech and language goals. Key Responsibilities:
Provide
direct speech and language therapy
to students, as outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), under the supervision of a certified SLP.
Work with
students across various grade levels , including those with mild to moderate communication disorders.
Support the supervising SLP in
assessments, data collection, and progress reporting .
Prepare therapy materials and activities tailored to student needs.
Document therapy sessions accurately and maintain student records in compliance with school and district protocols.
Collaborate with classroom teachers, special education staff, and families to ensure consistent support across settings.
Participate in team meetings, IEP reviews, and professional development sessions as needed.
Qualifications:
Active
Washington State SLPA license
(or eligibility for licensure).
Associates degree from an accredited SLPA program or equivalent coursework approved by the state.
Previous experience in a
school or pediatric setting
strongly preferred.
Familiarity with IEPs, school therapy models, and documentation requirements.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently while maintaining regular communication with the supervising SLP.
Work Environment:
This position is located in a
rural public school district
in White Swan, WA, known for its close-knit community and supportive school staff.
The SLPA will work onsite, supporting
elementary and/or secondary students , depending on caseload needs.
Access to a supportive multidisciplinary team and opportunities for ongoing mentorship from the supervising SLP.
