We are on the lookout for a highly competent and experienced Network Engineer to become part of our IT team, supporting the infrastructure needs of our third-party logistics (3PL) warehouse and distribution operations spread across Los Angeles County. Your role will be critical in ensuring the high availability, security, and performance of our enterprise network that underpins essential systems including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), transportation platforms, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) processes, and cloud-based business tools. The position necessitates a willingness to travel to various facilities in Los Angeles County (about 1015%).
Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Network Engineering or related infrastructure role. Residency in the Southern California area is required; no relocation will be provided. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Expert-level understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, and Layer 2/3 switching/routing. Proven experience with the deployment and operation of EVPN-VXLAN. Strong hands-on experience with configurations and troubleshooting within the Meraki dashboard. Comprehensive knowledge of Palo Alto Networks firewalls, security policies, and threat prevention capabilities. Experience with VPN, IPSec tunnels, and secure remote access solutions. Familiarity with wireless networks in warehouse environments, including RF scanner connectivity and signal coverage enhancement. Proficiency in using network diagnostic tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, or Nagios. Exceptional troubleshooting and incident response abilities, successfully identifying root causes quickly in high-pressure situations. Certifications such as PCNSE (Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer), JNCIP, CCNP, or equivalent. Experience in 3PL, logistics, or supply chain settings. Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, particularly how network connectivity influences real-time warehouse processes. Familiarity with VoIP, camera systems, and warehouse automation networks is an advantage. Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage intricate enterprise network topologies across multiple warehouse facilities, ensuring excellent performance and redundancy. Maintain and support Cisco Meraki switches, firewalls, and wireless access points throughout all facilities. Administer and secure Palo Alto Networks firewalls, guaranteeing stringent access control and high availability. Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot VPN tunnels, remote access solutions, and site-to-site connectivity across distribution centers. Implement, monitor, and uphold security best practices, such as firewall policies, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), and endpoint traffic filtering. Collaborate with IT leadership to develop scalable, secure network blueprints for existing and future sites. Utilize tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, and Nagios to proactively oversee and diagnose network performance challenges. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT Operations, WMS/ERP Admins, Facilities, and 3PL partners, to prepare networks for system enhancements, facility expansions, and new implementations. Document network topologies, configuration baselines, and disaster recovery protocols. Plan and execute network hardware upgrades, firmware patches, and lifecycle refreshes.
