The Presidio
Splunk Solutions Practice (SSP) Business Development Manager (BDM)
role is primarily responsible for serving as the subject matter expert for Presidio's SSP offerings, including Professional Services, Managed Services, Expertise on Demand, Expertise on Staff, and our proprietary Atlas software. Additionally, the SLED BDM will
lead field enablement of Presidio Account Teams
in assigned territories to drive Splunk Solutions sales. This role functions as a
Splunk Overlay
to Account Teams, supporting the proposal and sale of Splunk software solutionsincluding resale of Splunk licenses and related components. This role is dedicated to
leading and executing sales efforts with State and Local Government and Higher Education (SLED) customers. Responsibilities Proactively engage with
Presidio SLED Account Teams and clients
to identify opportunities, serving as a trusted advisor to uncover technical challenges and requirements that can be solved with SSP solutions built on Splunk technologies. Proactively engage with
Cisco and Splunk SLED account teams
supporting Splunk solutions within Presidio accounts and other targeted opportunities. Provide
pre-sales support
in collaboration with Presidio SLED Account Teams and Solutions Architects to ensure proposed solutions meet customer business and technology needs. Present and articulate the
SSP value proposition
to Presidio Account Teams, clients, and Cisco/Splunk account teams through multiple communication mediums. Communicate SSP capabilities effectively to both
technical and non-technical audiences . Monitor and assess
industry/technology advancements and alliances
to leverage emerging technologies and enhance Presidio's offerings. Collaborate with Solutions Architects to define requirements, solutions, and value propositions, including crafting
Statements of Work . Partner with
Presidio SLED Leadership and Account Managers
to drive Splunk solutions in key client accounts. Develop
solution profiles
for top SLED customers by mapping key influencers and decision-makers. Build and manage relationships with
Cisco and Splunk contacts
to stay current on vendor updates and facilitate account mapping, deal registration, discounting, and escalations. Represent
SSP thought leadership
to attract clients and strengthen Presidio's market reputation in SLED as a leader in Splunk solutions. Required Skills and Professional Experience: 3+ years
of successful experience exceeding quota in technology sales, preferably in IT Services, Splunk, MSP Sales, or cybersecurity within a matrixed organization. 2+ years
of sales experience
specific to SLED markets and customers
is required. Bachelor's degree, equivalent experience, and/or military experience. Fundamental knowledge of
security and information technology platforms , with an understanding of functionality and a focus on business benefits tied to technology adoption. Proven
communication skills
across multiple mediums, including active listening, writing, presenting, and verbal communication. Familiarity with
AI-enabled tools
to streamline daily selling and organizational tasks. CRM management experience (Salesforce preferred), with attention to detail in forecasting and influencing the sales process. Preferred Skills and Professional Experience: Possess or quickly obtain
Splunk Sales Certifications. Working knowledge of
Splunk applications, use cases, and security environments. Experience supporting
professional services sales
in a pre- or post-sales capacity. Fundamental understanding of
SLED procurement processes and contractual requirements. Strong work ethic, collaborative mindset, and proven ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
