As a business development manager within AWS, you will help shape and deliver a strategy to build mind share and broad use of Amazons cloud computing platform within private equity (PE) firms and their portfolio companies. Responsibilities include identifying PE targets, driving business, strategic and technical relationships with the PE community and their portfolio companies, and working with the AWS sales team to manage day-to-day interactions to build long-term opportunities. The ideal candidate will have both a business background to engage at the CxO/VP level and a technical background to interact with software developers and architects, with the ability to think strategically and analytically, convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus. A sense of ownership, drive, and scrappiness is essential. Responsibilities
Serve as a key member of the Business Development team to drive AWS market and technical strategy. Identify key PE firms with portfolio companies that have infrastructure needs and engage those PE firms. Execute the strategic business development plan with internal stakeholders (e.g., sales, partners, marketing, support). Collaborate with PEs and their portfolio companies to ensure successful adoption of AWS services and provide needed technical resources. Utilize Salesforce and other internal systems to manage engagement and pipeline. Prepare and present business reviews to senior management on progress and roadblocks for PE engagements. Serve as the primary liaison to the PE community on behalf of AWS and Amazon. Handle a high volume of engagements in a fast-paced cloud market. Demonstrate relevant business-level technical knowledge (e.g., databases, distributed computing, cloud concepts, storage, CDNs) with the ability to go deep on technical aspects to differentiate AWS services. Basic Qualifications
5+ years of experience developing, negotiating, and executing business agreements 5+ years of professional or military experience Bachelor's degree Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules Preferred Qualifications
