Duties
The Strategy & Planning team focuses on strategy formulation, prioritization, program management, and vendor management while building next-gen Total Cost of Ownership capabilities. The Agile Scrum Master role reports to the Director, Agile / Ways of Working COE, PMO. As a Scrum Master at McDonald's, you will be responsible for the daily operations of an agile squad, facilitating the work of the squad and scrum ceremonies, and ensuring the team is fully functional and productive. You will help the squad self-organize, focus on outcomes, and deliver work to a finished state. The Scrum Master is an Agile expert and helps the team and the organization understand Scrum/Agile and fosters high-performing teams. Responsibilities: Ensure Scrum ceremonies (e.g., stand ups, sprint planning, sprint retrospectives) are executed properly, driving the team to develop and deploy faster. Champion Agile CoE standards and processes within the team; act as a front-line change agent. Support the Agile Coach in educating the team, executing Agile best practices, promoting self-organization, and driving high-functioning teams. Eliminate blockers and external interferences to development progress. Help the Product Manager maintain the product backlog and ensure stories are defined at the right level. Support the Product Manager in defining the Definition of Done (DoD) for the product. Report to the Product Manager and own reporting and communication of scrum progress. Participate in scrum of scrums with other teams as needed. Address process issues and uphold quality within the squad. Capture key squad metrics and support team improvement. Maintain and clean up JIRA in alignment with best practices.
Qualifications
5+ years’ experience mentoring and guiding Agile teams. Deep understanding of the Scrum framework and a track record of mentoring high-performing teams. Strong knowledge of Agile software delivery and operational aspects to production. Experience with Agile toolsets (e.g., Jira, Confluence). Exceptional communications and stakeholder management skills with strong emotional intelligence to build healthy working relationships. Possess one or more Scrum certifications (CSM, PSM). Willingness and ability to live the McDonald’s values: Serve, Inclusion, Integrity, Community, and Family.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Agile transformations and coaching organizations on Agile best practices. Proficiency in change management to facilitate cultural and organizational shifts. Experience leading or contributing to an Agile Center of Excellence. Knowledge across Lean, Agile-Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, XP. Experience in Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry.

The expected salary range for this role is
$129,800 - $165,490
per year. The above represents the expected salary range; actual pay may reflect experience and other factors. Additional Information
