Northern Trust Cloud Engineering Scrum Master Project Overview/Contractor’s Role: The Cloud Engineering Scrum Master facilitates Agile practices within the cloud engineering team, ensuring delivery of secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions. This role serves as a facilitative leader, removing impediments, fostering collaboration, and ensuring alignment with enterprise cloud strategies. Experience Level: 3 (Senior) Qualifications (must haves): 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or Delivery Lead. 2+ years working in cloud engineering or DevOps environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Strong understanding of cloud-native services, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and modern engineering practices. Excellent facilitation, conflict resolution, and facilitative leadership skills. Ability to coach technical teams and stakeholders in Agile/SAFe principles. Proficiency with Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps). Nice to Have: Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or equivalent certification. Background in software engineering, cloud operations, or site reliability engineering. Experience in enterprise cloud migration or large-scale cloud adoption programs Tasks & Responsibilities: Act as Scrum Master for one or more cloud engineering squads focused on cloud platforms, automation, DevOps, and modernization initiatives. Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives). Partner with product owners to maintain well-groomed backlogs aligned to business priorities. Coach team members on Agile principles, self-organization, and cross-functional collaboration. Drive continuous improvement of delivery processes and engineering practices. Remove impediments that impact sprint commitments, escalating when necessary. Track and communicate sprint progress, team performance metrics, and delivery risks. Collaborate with Cloud Architects, Engineers, and Security teams to ensure adherence to governance, compliance, and best practices. Support release planning and coordinate dependencies across cloud platform and product teams. Pay Rate Range : $73 - $85 USD hourly Additional Notes : The above listed pay range is a good faith estimate of what the employer reasonably expects to pay for this position.
