Act as liaison between formulation group and HLUS group managing global Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) and labels for commercial and experimental products in compliance with applicable hazard communication regulations using specialized SDS authoring software for multiple regions (North America, EU, Asia, Australia). Evaluate raw materials and analyze product formulations, specifications, and technical literature for country-specific hazard classifications. Monitor, retain, and organize data related to product testing to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain product schedules, testing records, and regulatory compliance documentation. Participate in the management of product certifications and registrations with relevant agencies, including preparing and submitting required certifications, reports, and documentation to HLUS departments managing regulatory filings related to TSCA, EU REACH, KREACH, RoHS, Prop 65. Conduct chemical assessments and respond to product inquiries related to regulatory compliance from internal and external customers. Research and maintain knowledge of global regulatory frameworks governing hazard communication, chemical management, and product compliance (e.g., GHS, OSHA HAZCOM, TSCA, EU REACH, RoHS, Prop 65, PFAS regulations). Support sustainability initiatives including data collection, reporting, and product-specific carbon footprint calculations. Maintain data integrity on chemical hazard assessments in SDS authoring software systems. Communicate product compliance requirements, status, and workflows with internal and external stakeholders. Assist business divisions with special projects related to product stewardship and regulatory compliance, such as supplier and customer surveys. Collaborate with product management and marketing teams to ensure SDS and label information is consistent with product marketing. Actively participate in the development and deployment of chemical management system-based processes and workflows. Prepare regulatory reports as required (e.g., Call2Recycle, IMERC) and support TSCA clearance for business divisions. Required Skills / Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in chemistry, environmental science, or related scientific field preferred. 3-5 years of experience in SDS authoring, regulatory compliance, or product stewardship role. Advanced knowledge and experience in implementing or applying GHS in the workplace (US-OSHA, Canada-WHMIS, EU- CLP). Experience with complex authoring software applications (e.g., The WERCS, SAP, 3E Generate). Aptitude to analyze and interpret local, national, and international chemical regulations and summarize impacts. Strong degree of thoroughness and accuracy with excellent attention to detail. Critical thinking skills including problem-solving, data analysis, and effective management of priorities. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently on projects with minimal supervision. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint). Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement. Desired Skills
Strong knowledge and expertise working with data generated from SAP, SDS management, and product formulation software. Comprehensive knowledge of global chemical regulations (TSCA, RoHS, REACH) and product compliance requirements. Working knowledge or certification in one or more transportation regulations (DOT, IATA, IMDG). Experience with carbon footprint calculation methodologies and sustainability reporting. Background in life sciences or pharmaceutical industry preferred. Familiarity with cell culture media products and their regulatory considerations. Experience with auditing or participating in compliance assessments. Professional certification in product stewardship or related field is a plus. Expected travel less than 20 percent.
