$250,000.00/yr - $350,000.00/yr Commercial Real Estate | Georgia | Tennessee | Macdonald and Company Macdonald & Company are pleased to be partnered with a privately held, vertically integrated real estate investment and development firm with a strong track record across multifamily and other commercial sectors. The firm is seeking a Head of Development Eastern United States to be based in Atlanta. This individual will oversee all phases of the development process while managing multiple offices across the region. The role spans acquisition, entitlements, design, construction, lease-up, and operational handover - offering full-cycle exposure and the opportunity to shape growth across a broad Eastern U.S. footprint. This is a standout opportunity for a senior real estate professional who thrives on building and leading teams, driving execution, and taking ownership of projects from concept to completion. Responsibilities

Lead development projects across the Eastern United States, from site acquisition through stabilization Oversee multiple regional offices and development teams, ensuring alignment of strategy and execution Drive market research, underwriting, and investment committee presentations for new opportunities Manage consultants, architects, engineers, and contractors through all project phases Oversee entitlements, permitting, design, and value engineering to deliver projects on time and within budget Monitor construction progress, budgets, and schedules while resolving key issues proactively Partner with asset management and property management teams to ensure seamless project handover Represent the firm in external relationships with municipalities, capital partners, and industry stakeholders Qualifications

15-20 years of multifamily development leadership with full-cycle experience Proven track record managing multiple teams/offices across different markets Strong financial acumen with experience structuring and closing large-scale development financing Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills Bachelors degree in Real Estate, Finance, Construction, or related field; advanced degree preferred Willingness to travel extensively across the Eastern United States as needed If youre looking for the chance to make a visible impact within a dynamic and highly regarded platform, wed love to hear from you.
