Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and assistive technologies adapted for diverse learning styles Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech therapists, audiologists, and general education teachers to support student success Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods to ensure effective learning outcomes Facilitate communication between students, families, and school staff to promote engagement and understanding of student needs Maintain accurate records and comply with all relevant educational regulations and guidelines Desired Qualifications and Experience: Certification or licensure in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education or equivalent credential Experience teaching students with hearing impairments from kindergarten through 12th grade Strong knowledge of hearing loss impact on learning and experience with assistive technologies and communication methods such as sign language or oral communication Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment Location: Williamson, Georgia Duration: Full academic year contract (NSY) This position presents an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with hearing impairments while working in a supportive K-12 setting.
