A full-time, school-year position is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in an elementary school located in New Market, MD. This role operates within a collaborative environment alongside a second full-time SLP. Responsibilities include: Conducting comprehensive speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing evaluations. Delivering individual and group therapy focused on articulation, language skills (expressive/receptive), pragmatics, fluency, and voice. Implementing augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies for students requiring additional support. Supporting literacy development through language-based interventions. Participating in IEP team meetings by developing measurable goals and reporting on student progress. Collaborating closely with teachers, special educators, psychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and parents to promote student success. Providing consultation on classroom strategies to support students speech and language needs. Conducting screenings and assessments using standardized and informal tools, documenting findings, and maintaining accurate progress records. Writing evaluation reports, IEP goals, and service plans while adhering to compliance standards under IDEA and Maryland State Department of Education regulations. Ensuring services are provided in the least restrictive environment across various educational settings. Maintaining professional licensure and staying current with ongoing professional development. Qualifications/Experience: Maryland state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Familiarity with ASHA standards and special education regulations (IDEA). Experience providing services to elementary-aged students, including non-verbal populations. Strong collaboration and communication skills. Proficiency with AAC interventions and literacy support.
