General Production Worker

We are looking for a dedicated bar saw operators and material handlers to join our Operations Team in Southington, CT. As a bar saw operator, you will be responsible for setting up and safely operating saws to cut material into pieces as ordered by the customer. Material handlers will be using forklifts and other equipment to transport materials. These are 2nd shift positions with lots of room for growth and advancement!

Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety in all operations.
• Organize work orders to efficiently process material.
• Transport material throughout the warehouse using forklifts and cranes.
• Set up machines by selecting appropriate nozzles, setting speeds, and feeds.
• Measure material using calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
• Confirm source material processed is from the correct location and is the correct material.
• Conduct first piece and in-process inspections according to quality sampling plan.
• Stack and sort finished products for packaging.
• Pack and protect material for shipment.
• Clean saws according to maintenance procedures.
• Perform additional warehouse duties as directed by supervisor.

Essential Skills

• Experience in warehouse, material handling, and forklift operation.
• Previous machining experience or experience directly related to the duties of the position.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to perform physical labor, such as manufacturing, warehouse, construction, landscaping, general labor.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Ability to read and understand English for following work instructions.
• Basic math skills for converting decimals and fractions and accurately using and reading tape measures and calipers.
• Dependable, punctual, and works well with others.
• Ability to work required overtime.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• History of working safely and productively.

This is a contract to hire position based out of Southington, Connecticut.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.54 - $27.87/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
