General Production Worker

Join a large food & beverage manufacturer as a General Production Worker. This position requires versatility, as you will operate machines on the production floor and assist with packaging, material handling, and other warehouse duties. You will work on a rotating schedule, ensuring smooth operations across different departments.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain machines on the production floor.
• Cross-train in warehouse duties such as packaging and material handling.
• Reload and maintain continuous operation, including loading paper cartons/bottles and juices.
• Change silos as needed.
• Complete efficiency paperwork and monitor weights of filled cartons.
• Conduct dye checks for leaks.
• Complete all production paperwork accurately and promptly.
• Monitor products for compliance with specifications.
• Ensure correct codes are used in product specifications.
• Record production data, machine efficiency or inefficiencies, and downtime.

Essential Skills

• Experience in production and warehouse environments.
• Proficiency with inspection, hand tools, and tape measures.
• Machine operation skills.
• Familiarity with food and beverage packaging equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to work up to 60 hours per week.
• Willingness to work weekends.

Work Environment

The work environment can be hot and dirty, with potential spills on the ground due to milk and juice manufacturing. Shift hours are from 6am to 2:30pm for the first shift and 2pm to 10pm for the second shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ellington, Connecticut.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
