Elementary (K-12 school setting) Key Responsibilities: Conduct individualized assessments and therapy for speech, language, articulation, and auditory skills of students referred for special education. Collaborate as a member of the multidisciplinary team to develop and interpret IEPs based on student evaluations. Provide consultative support and training to school staff, families, and community partners to facilitate effective communication strategies and program development. Maintain ongoing communication with families, school personnel, and healthcare agencies to monitor student progress and adjust services accordingly. Support both regular and special education staff with language programming integrated into classroom and community settings. Preferred Qualifications: Active Virginia SLP License. Experience working in school environments, preferably with K-12 students. Skilled in assessment, evaluation, and consulting within special education frameworks. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build professional relationships and bring a positive, engaging approach to therapy. Knowledgeable about special education processes and disability categories, including early learning and atypical impairments.
